Hot Dip Galvanized
Hot-dip galvanizing is the reaction of molten metal with an iron substrate to produce an alloy layer, thereby combining the substrate and the plating layer. Hot-dip galvanizing involves pickling iron and steel parts first to remove iron oxide from the surface of the iron and steel parts. After pickling, they are cleaned in an ammonium chloride or zinc chloride aqueous solution, or a mixed solution of ammonium chloride and zinc chloride, and then sent to the hot-dip plating bath. Hot-dip galvanizing has the advantages of uniform coating, strong adhesion, and long service life.
Galvanized Sheet
Galvanized steel sheet products are mainly used in construction, light industry, automobile, agriculture, animal husbandry, fishery, and other industries. Examples include building roofs, highway guardrails, sheet metal processing, roof grilles, household appliance enclosures, ventilation ducts, chimneys, kitchen utensils, grain storage and transportation, and frozen processing of meat and aquatic products, etc.
Galvalume steel is also called Aluminum-Zinc Alloy Coated Steel, aluminized zinc steel (alu zinc steel), SGLC. The galvalume metal is composed of 55% aluminum, 43.4% zinc, and 1.6% silicon, solidified at 600℃. Its whole structure consists of aluminum-iron-silicon-zinc, forming a compact quaternary crystal alloy. The surface of the galvalume steel sheet is characterized by smooth, flat, and gorgeous stars, and its base color is silver-white. The special coating structure gives it excellent corrosion resistance.
The normal service life of a galvalume steel sheet is up to 25 years, and it has good heat resistance. It can be used in high-temperature environments at 315℃. The adhesion between the coating and the paint film is strong, providing good processing performance. It can be punched, sheared, and welded, and the surface conductivity is excellent.

Galvalume Steel Plate
Galvalume is an important alloy material that is often used in daily life. It is an alloy-coated steel plate widely used in building materials, home appliances, automobiles, environment, machinery, ships, and many other fields. The galvanized steel plate is covered with an aluminum-zinc alloy on the surface of the steel plate. It is composed of 55% aluminum, 43.4% zinc, and 1.6% silicon, solidified at a high temperature of 600 °C. The entire structure is composed of aluminum-iron-silicon-zinc, forming a dense alloy-coated steel plate of a quaternary crystal.
Galvanized steel sheet has many excellent characteristics:
- Corrosion resistance: The corrosion resistance of “galvanized steel coil” is mainly due to the protective function of aluminum. When the zinc is worn away, the aluminum forms a dense layer of aluminum oxide, which prevents corrosion-resistant substances from further corroding the interior.
- Heat resistance: Aluminum-zinc alloy steel plate has good heat resistance and can withstand high temperatures of more than 300°C. It is similar to the high-temperature oxidation resistance of aluminum-plated steel plate. It is often used in chimney pipes, ovens, illuminators, and fluorescent lamp shades.
- Heat reflectivity: The heat reflectivity of galvanized steel sheet is very high, which is twice that of galvanized steel sheet, making it useful as a heat insulation material.
- Economy: Because the density of 55% AL-Zn is smaller than that of Zn, the area of a galvanized steel sheet is more than 3% larger than that of a galvanized steel sheet when the weight and thickness of the gold plating layer are the same.
Galvanized steel coil is an important alloy material often used in daily life. The aluminum-zinc-coated steel coil is composed of an aluminum-zinc alloy structure, which is composed of 55% aluminum, 43% zinc, and 2% silicon, solidified at a high temperature of 600°C. The entire structure is composed of aluminum-iron-silicon-zinc, forming a dense quaternary alloy of crystals.
Applications of galvalume steel sheets/coils:
- Construction: Roofs, walls, garages, soundproof walls, pipes, and modular houses, etc.
- Automobiles: Mufflers, exhaust pipes, wiper attachments, fuel tanks, truck boxes, etc.
- Appliances: Refrigerator back panels, gas furnaces, air conditioners, electronic microwave ovens, LCD frames, CRT explosion-proof belts, LED backlights, electrical cabinets, etc.
- Agriculture: Pig houses, chicken houses, granaries, greenhouse pipes, etc.
- Others: Thermal insulation covers, heat exchangers, dryers, water heaters, etc.
Precautions for use and storage:
- Storage: It should be stored indoors, such as in warehouses, kept dry and ventilated, and not stored in acidic climates for long periods. When stored outdoors, it is necessary to prevent exposure to rain to avoid oxidative stains caused by condensation.
- Transportation: To avoid external impact, SKID should be used to support steel coils on the transportation vehicle to reduce stacking and take rainproof measures.
- Processing: COILCENTER needs to use the same lubricating oil as the aluminum plate when shearing. When drilling holes or cutting galvanized steel sheets, scattered iron filings should be removed promptly.

Galvalume Round Tube
Galvanized steel pipe is an alloy layer formed by the reaction between molten metal and the iron matrix, which combines the matrix and the coating. Hot-dip galvanizing is a process involving the pickling of steel pipes. To remove the iron oxide on the surface of steel pipes, they are cleaned through ammonium chloride or zinc chloride aqueous solution or a mixed aqueous solution of ammonium chloride and zinc chloride after pickling and then sent into the hot-dip galvanizing tank.
The Difference Between Galvanized Square Tube and Round Tube:
- The shape is different. The square tube is square, while the round tube is round.
- Different uses, the uses of square tubes include construction, machinery manufacturing, steel construction, shipbuilding, solar power generation supports, steel structure engineering, power engineering, power plants, agricultural and chemical machinery, glass curtain walls, automobile chassis, airports, boiler construction, highway railings, housing construction, pressure vessels, oil storage tanks, bridges, power station equipment, lifting and transportation machinery, and other high-load welded structural parts.
- The purpose of round pipes is mainly to be used as pipeline pipes for general low-pressure fluids such as water, gas, and oil. Additionally, they are used as oil well pipes and oil pipelines in the petroleum industry, especially in offshore oil fields, oil heaters for chemical coking equipment, condensation cooling pipes for equipment, coal distillation and oil exchangers, trestle piles, and support pipes for mine tunnels.
Galvalume Square Pipe
Representation Method of Galvanized Square Tube:
Example: A square pipe of dimensions 50 * 50 * 5 * 6m is expressed as 50 (width) * 50 (width) * 5 (wall thickness) * 6m (length). Since the square pipe is equilateral, the commonly used measurement is 6 meters, and the general industry representation is simplified as 50*5 square.
According to the representation method, square tubes generally use side width and wall thickness as the standard. The steel pipe substrate of the hot-dip galvanized square tube is a zinc-iron alloy layer formed by fusion with the plating solution, making its corrosion resistance much higher than that of cold-dip galvanizing. Compared with ordinary welded square tubes, it offers better strength, toughness, plasticity, and welding performance.
Hot-dip galvanized square tubes can undergo cold punching, rolling, drawing, bending, etc., without damaging the coating. They are suitable for general processing, including drilling, cutting, welding, and cold bending. The surface of hot-dip galvanized parts is bright and beautiful, and the whole structure consists of zinc forming a dense quaternary crystal. This layer serves as a barrier on the steel plate, effectively preventing the penetration of corrosion factors. The corrosion resistance stems from the barrier layer protection function of zinc, as per requirements.
